(Lesson 4827) (04-20-25) 1st Corinthians 16:5-11
“Now I will come unto you, when I shall pass through Macedonia: for I do pass through Macedonia. And it may be that I will abide, yea, and winter with you, that ye may bring me on my journey whithersoever I go. For I will not see you now by the way; but I trust to tarry a while with you, if the Lord permit. But I will tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries. Now if Timotheus come, see that he may be with you without fear: for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also do. Let no man therefore despise him: but conduct him forth in peace, that he may come unto me: for I look for him with the brethren.”
In today’s quote, Paul outlined his travel plans and provided guidance regarding his fellow workers in the ministry. Paul expressed his intention to visit the Corinthian church after passing through Macedonia, hoping to spend some time with them, possibly even the winter, depending on the Lord's will. He emphasized that his plans are subject to God's direction, acknowledging that while he desired to be with them, he must remain in Ephesus until Pentecost due to a significant opportunity for effective ministry, despite facing many adversaries. Regarding Timothy, Paul urged the Corinthians to ensure that he can be among them without fear, as Timothy is doing the Lord's work just as Paul is. He instructs them not to despise Timothy but to send him on his journey in peace so that he may return to Paul, who is awaiting him with the brethren. ~
