Lesson 4810

 (Lesson 4810) (04-03-25) 1st Corinthians 12:1-7

“Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.”

In today’s quote, Paul addressed the Corinthian believers regarding spiritual gifts, emphasizing the importance of understanding them correctly. He reminded them of their past, when they were led astray by mute idols, highlighting the transformation brought by the Holy Spirit. Paul stated that no one speaking by the Spirit of God would curse Jesus, and only through the Holy Spirit can one genuinely declare Jesus as Lord. He then explained that there are various gifts and talents, but all originate from the same Spirit, Lord, and God. Importantly, Paul emphasized that the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each believer for the common good, underscoring that every Christian receives spiritual gifts intended to be a vital part of the entire body of Christ. ~
