Lesson 4812

 (Lesson 4812) (04-05-25) 1st Corinthians 12:13

“For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.”

In today’s lesson, Paul declared that all believers have been baptized by one spirit into one body, whether Jew or Greek, slave or free, and have all been made to drink of one Spirit. This baptism is not a water baptism but the baptism of the Holy Ghost, which unites all believers into the body of Christ at the moment of salvation. This is the same Spirit baptism that John the Baptist referred to when he said, "He will baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire" (Matthew 3:11). It signifies a spiritual transformation and incorporation into the Church, the body of Christ, through the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit—not a physical act of water baptism, but a supernatural work of God in the heart of the believer. ~
