Lesson 4456

 (Lesson 4456)(04-15-24) Luke 23:44-46

And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.”

In today’s quote, the narrative describes the final moments of Jesus' crucifixion. At around noon, darkness fell over the entire land until three in the afternoon. At that moment, the curtain of the temple is torn in two. Jesus then called out, "Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit," and after saying that, he breathed his last. This passage marks the moment of Jesus' death, highlighting his submission to the will of God the Father. What a glorious Savior we serve, He gave His life, in a most horrible way, for the sins that are inherent in you and I. Thank God for His amazing, saving grace.~
