(Lesson 4991) (09-30-25) 1st Peter 4:8-11
“And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. Use hospitality one to another without grudging. As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”
Today’s quote teaches that above all, believers should show love for one another, because love serves to cover “a multitude of sins”. We are to practice open hospitality and use the gifts God has given us to serve others. Those who teach should do so with God’s words, and those who serve should do so with the strength of the Holy Spirit. Our purpose for all things should be that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong all gratitude, praise and power forever. In short, today’s lesson calls us to live out our faith through genuine love, generous hospitality, and using our gifts for God’s glory. ~
