Lesson 4967

 (Lesson 4967) (09-06-25) Hebrews 13:3-13

“Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body. Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle. For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.”

Today’s quote reminds us all to show compassion and faithfulness in our walk with Christ. It calls us to remember those in prison and those suffering in any way, to honor marriage, and to live free from envy by trusting that God will never leave or forsake us. We are encouraged to respect the leaders of the church who teach God’s word, and to remain steadfast in the unchanging truth of Jesus Christ. This lesson warns us to shun strange doctrines that cause reliance on meaningless rituals (water baptism included) and certain foods for spiritual benefit, pointing instead to the soul saving grace of God through the life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ. Believers are urged to go outside our comfort zones and teach those who otherwise would have no access to God’s word. In short, this lesson stresses love, faithfulness, contentment, and boldness to stand with Christ even during the times of our own suffering, knowing He is the unchanging source of our eternal salvation. ~
