Lesson 4439

 (Lesson 4439)(03-29-24) Luke 21:33-38

Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives. And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.”

In today’s quote, Jesus emphasized the enduring truth of His words, He contrasted them with the temporary nature of heaven and earth, which He says will pass away. He cautioned His disciples to remain vigilant, avoiding distractions that could cloud their judgment and readiness for the Day of His return, which will come “as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth”. Jesus urged constant vigilance and prayer for the strength to escape the tribulations that will precede the end. The passage concluded by noting Jesus' daily teaching at the temple, with people arriving early in the morning to hear Him, highlighting His popularity and the eagerness of the public to listen to His teachings. What a wonderful Savior we serve!~
