(Lesson 4421)(03-11-24) Luke 18:15-17
“And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.”
Today’s quote underscores the essentiality of childlike receptiveness in one's relationship with God. In this passage, people brought children to Jesus, hoping He would touch them, but the His followers rebuked them. Jesus, however, welcomed the children, emphasizing that the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. The message therein is profound: to enter and experience the fullness of God's Kingdom, one must possess qualities often found in children—innocence, trust, dependence, and openness. This passage highlights that spiritual maturity involves cultivating and maintaining a heart that is humble, receptive, and trusting towards God, much like that of a child.~
