Lesson 4857

 (Lesson 4857) (05-18-25) Galatians 1:6-9

“I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”

In today’s quote, Paul expressed astonishment that the Galatians were so quickly turning away from the teachings of Christ to embrace a different gospel. He clarified that this "different gospel" was not another legitimate message but a distortion of the true gospel of Christ. Paul warned that even if he himself or an angel from heaven were to preach a gospel contrary to what had been originally delivered, they should be considered accursed. He emphasized this point by repeating that anyone preaching a gospel different from what the Galatians had received from him should be accursed. This passage serves as a stern warning to today’s churches”, those who alter or dilute the gospel message to align with modern preferences or societal pressures. Paul's admonition underscored the importance of adhering strictly to the original gospel of Christ, without additions or modifications. It reminds believers today to remain vigilant and discerning, ensuring that their teachings and beliefs are firmly rooted in the unaltered truth of the gospel. ~
