Lesson 4672

(Lesson 4672)(11-18-24) Acts 17:1-4

“Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews: And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ. And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few.”

In today’s quote, Paul and Silas traveled to Thessalonica, where they entered the synagogue and preached for three Sabbaths. Paul explained through the Scriptures that Jesus is the Christ who suffered and rose from the dead as intercessor for the sins of all who will believe in Him. Some of the Jews were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, along with a large number of God-fearing Greeks and a few prominent women. Their message gained a following, but it also stirs up opposition from some jealous Jews. ~
