(Lesson 3155)(08-21-20) Matthew 10:16-20
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you."
In today’s quote Jesus warned His apostles about the troubles that lay ahead of them. He then comforted them. Telling them not to worry about what the should say because they would we given words by which they could best promote the will of God and defend themselves against to who would accuse them. Today the children of God are given those same assurances, yet our grossly over educated ministers of the word, study for hours learning how to put together a sermon. Wouldn’t it be so much better if they all relied on God to provide the words instead of the “bible scholars”?~
