Lesson 2408

(Lesson 2408)(07-19-18) Mark 1:9-11
“And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Today’s quote relates that , in obedience with Jewish law, Jesus went to John and was ritually baptized, (immersed) into water to cermonially remove the *“filth of the flesh”; And to fulfill the law for all those who would come to believe Him. After which; He was recognized by God the Father as His Son, and qualified to be the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all mankind.
Jesus lived a perfect life and fulfilled the law so that we who believe in Him, by that faith in Him, can have everlasting life. Thank you Jesus!
