Lesson 2102

(Lesson 2102)(09-07-17)  Ephesians 5:32-33
“This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.”

In the beginning of today’s quote, Paul clearly established that his remarks were meant to demonstrate Christ’s love for the church (The Children of God), and His relationship with it. He also demonstrated how we should adore Him over all else.
The last part of the quote informs us that our marriages should NOT be master/servant relationships, in either direction. But rather, from the side of either husband or wife, our marriages should be a reflection of how Jesus loves us. It behooves us to remember that Jesus loved us enough to die a horrible death for us. We, as Christians, should love our husbands/wives to the same degree.~
