Lesson 4885) (06-15-25) Ephesians 4:1-7
“I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.”
In today’s quote, Paul urged believers to walk worthy of their calling with humility, gentleness, patience, and love, working diligently to maintain unity in the faith. Paul emphasized that there is ONLY one body, one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, and one baptism. The “one baptism”, mentioned therein, refers to the baptism of the Holy Ghost, the spiritual immersion into Christ that truly unites believers, it DOES NOT refer to any ritual involving water. Each believer has been given grace according to the measure of Christ’s gift, affirming that unity and salvation came through spiritual means, not ceremonial acts. ~
