(Lesson 4794) (03-21-25) 1st Corinthians 8:1-3
“Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth. And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. But if any man love God, the same is known of him.”
In today’s lesson, Paul began addressing the issue of food offered to idols. He acknowledged that "knowledge puffs up," but love builds up. He warned that those who think they know everything may actually know little, while those who love God are known by Him. Paul emphasized that love, not prideful knowledge, should guide the behavior of believers, especially in matters that affect others' consciences. ~
