(Lesson 4499)(05-28-24) John 6:16-21
“And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea, And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them. And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew. So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid. But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid. Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.”
Today’s quote demonstrates Jesus' authority over nature and His ability to bring peace and reassurance to His followers in times of fear and trouble. When the disciples were afraid due to the storm and the sight of Jesus walking on water, His words, "It is I; be not afraid," comforted them. That event teaches about trusting in Jesus' presence and power, even during difficult and frightening circumstances. When the disciples accepted Jesus into the boat, they safely and quickly reached their destination. This lesson symbolizes that inviting Jesus into our lives brings not only the salvation of our eternal souls, it also brings peace and solace as we endure the chaos of our daily lives.~
