(Lesson 3847)(07-31-22) Ephesians 4:1-6
“ I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”
In today’s quote, Paul encouraged the Ephesians to remain faithful. He also related that there is one Lord (Jesus), one faith (the faith that is in Jesus), one baptism (the baptism of the Holy Spirit) and one omnipotent God of all things (God the Father).
It is very important to note that the “ one baptism” that Paul referred to in the quote, is the spiritual baptism that is accomplished by one’s having faith in the life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ. In doing so, a lost soul is reborn in the spirit and accepted as a child of God. And, before God, a brother or sister to Jesus Himself.~
