Lesson 3822

 (Lesson 3822)(07-06-22) Galatians 3:1-2

    “O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?”

    Today’s lesson reveals that the Galatians were much like many of today’s “Christians”. They/we have allowed the gospel of Christ to be distorted by commandments of the laws of the Jews. 

    As we know, the old laws of the Jews were “fulfilled” by Jesus when He gave His life for the souls of those who will have faith in Him. “Think not that I have come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, TILL ALL IS FULFILLED. (Matthew 5:17-18)

    Therefore, those old laws of the Jews no longer apply to those of us whom have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus. 

    Our sins have been “Justified” by that same redeeming blood. “Therefore being JUSTIFIED BY FAITH, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”. (Romans 5:1)~
