Lesson 3498

 (Lesson 3498)(08-01-21) John 1:6-11

“There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not.”

Today’s quote relates John’s account of the appearance of John the Baptist. It also describes his divine mission as he was sent from God.

John the Baptist was not sent to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ, but rather, he was sent to prepare his Jewish brothers and sisters for the fact that Jesus, the Messiah, was soon to appear.

The last part of the quote relates that the Jews rejected Jesus.~
