Lesson 3467

 (Lesson 3467)(07-01-21) Luke 21:1-4

“And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all: For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.”

Today’s lesson relates the story of the widow’s mite wherein the woman gave all that she had to the “offerings of God”.

What the children of God should take away from this lesson is that, to give, when one has more than enough wealth, means little, or nothing, when compared to a gift that comes from one who gives all that they have.

Sadly, today, too many give pittances toward the Lord’s work when they are capable of giving much more. The attitude of many within the church is to only do what is necessary for appearance sake. “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth." (Revelation 3:16)~
