(Lesson 5006) (10-15-25) 1st John 3:7-10
“Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.”
Today’s quote explains that people who live right demonstrate that they belong to God, while those who keep doing all manner of evil show they belong to the devil. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, and those born of God CANNOT keep living in sin because God’s Spirit lives in them and we CANNOT sin. This difference makes it clear who the children of God really are and who are not. Those who do what’s right and love others belong to God. In simple terms: our actions reveal who we really follow while living right and showing love to one another proves we belong to God. ~
