(Lesson 2467)(09-19-18) Mark 12:26-27
“And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.”
Today’s quote makes if vividly clear that God will never allow one of His to die. He, God the Father, being ONLY “the God of the living”. Those who die, having rejected God’s saving grace throught Jesus Christ, do not belong to God and do NOT have the security of the believer. Those who die having rejected Christ belong in the group that Jesus addressed in Matthew 7:23 while talking about false prophets; “And then will I profess to them, I NEVER KNEW YOU: depart from me, ye that work eniquity.” Those of us who have accepten Jesus as savior will be resurrected when that time comes. ~
