Lesson 4939

 Lesson 4939) (08-09-25) 2nd Timothy 4:1-5

“I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at hi appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.”

In today’s lesson, Paul charged Timothy before God and Christ to preach the word, to be prepared in all situations, and to be quick to correct, as well as to encourage with patience and sound teaching. He warned that a time would come when people would not endure sound doctrine but would seek teachers to satisfy their desires, turning from the truth to lies. Timothy was urged us to remain watchful, to endure hardships and to do the work of an evangelist.                                                                                     Paul’s prophecy has proven to be spot on in today’s, so-called, Christianity? ~
