Lesson 2974

Lesson (2974)(02-20-20) 1 Timothy 2:1-4
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”

In today’s quote, Paul related that Timothy, as well as every member of the church even today, should pray for all authority so that the church would remain in the good graces of that authority.
In the last part of the quote, Paul put to rest the contention that there are only a few who are predestined to be eternally saved when he said, “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have ALL MEN to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”~
