Lesson (2957)(02-03-20) Colossians 3:1-4
“ If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.”
Today’s quote directly contradicts the contention, by many, that if a person believes in Jesus Christ and, through faith, commits his/her soul to His care, and then commits a sin, he/she has lost his/her salvation. That contention is totally debunked by what Paul said in today’s quote, “For YE ARE DEAD, and YOUR LIFE IS HID WITH CHRIST IN GOD.” If a person is dead in the sight of God, that one CANNOT commit sin. That statement is again confirmed by what John wrote, “ Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” (1 John 3:9) Then again when Paul wrote, “And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.” (Ephesians 4:30)~
