Lesson 2546

(Lesson 2546)(12-09-18) Luke 9:46-48
“Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest. And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him, And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.”

In today’s quote, the instruction that Jesus left for all or us who have been saved by the grace of God, have become members of His church, and have taken on the task of representing Him to others, is that there is not one of us that is above or beneath another. We area ALL equals in the sight of God, none better or worse than anyone else.
This lesson also relates that we are to take in those that are weak like the child represented in today’s quote.
In my opinion, one of the most heinous sins that is committed by Christian people today, is the failure to reach out to those who are percieved to be lesser than we. We should all remember that Jesus had NO dress code and He did not require those with whom He associated Himself to be “upstanding” people. Jesus related to the basest parts of society, those His fellow Jews called “sinners”. Those are the people to whom we, as Christians, should devote our time. We accomplish NOTHING by preaching to the choir. ~
