Lesson 2520

(Lesson 2520)(11-13-18) Luke 5:27-32
“ And after these things he went forth, and saw a publican, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he said unto him, Follow me. And he left all, rose up, and followed him. And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them. But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners? And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

Jesus made a very important point in today’s quote, one that should be taken into account by every so-called Christian Church today. Jesus said, “They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
There are literally millions of would be Christians who go to some meeting place every time the doors swing, where they are continuously lectured by the same messages over and over again by a preacher, priest, pastor or even a Sunday School teacher.
Sadly, most “church” congregations are doing exactly what Jesus spoke against in today’s quote. They are attempting to heal those who aren’t sick. Whereas, in my opinion, which is taken from what Jesus Himself said about the matter, those who have already accepted Jesus Christ as Savior, should get up, get out and preach to those who are lost without God instead of sitting on a church pew waiting for some poor lost soul to come asking for knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Christians should, by all means, assemble themselves together, but our churches have become places for social gatherings and have all but abandoned their true purpose, all together.
As Jesus said, in essence, those who are already saved don’t need a savior but to those who are lost, a savior is ALL they need. ~
