(Lesson 2481)(10-03-18) Mark 14:12-16
“ And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover? And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him. And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples? And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us. And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.”
Today’s quote relates that Jesus and His disciples located and prepared the place where they, along with Jesus, would celebrate the passover tradition.
The “passover” meal and celebration was then, and still is, one of the most honored traditions of the Jewish people. The tradition of the passover was directly commanded by God the Father.
It is very important for us to note that God gave very specific instructions as to how the passover was to be celebrated. Those instructions are laid in in great detail in Exodus chapter 12. As we continue these lessons, we will refer to those instructions in order to clarify some misunderstanding concerning the passover and how Jesus celebrated it.~
