Lesson 2080

(Lesson 2080)(08-13-17)  Galatians 4:8-11
“Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.”

In today’s lesson, Paul rebuked both Jews and Gentiles for reverting back to their old habits, the Jews for their attempting to return to the Law from which their oppresion had, and the Gentiles for returning to idol worship.
Most socalled churches today, in some way or another, have defiled the gospel of Jesus Christ, just as those Galatians did in Paul’s day. They have imposed needless rituals and have taken up setting certain days apart form other as, in some way, holier. Roman Catholcism and it’s subsidiaries have turned their socalled worship assemblies into scenes of nothing more than vulgar pomp and ritual.
The lesson that sincere Christians should take from today’s quote is that we should do everything in our power to always observe the Gospel of Jesus Christ pure in the form that Paul and Jesus Himself delivered to us. And, we should keep our fellowship in accordance with the simple rules that is laid out for us in the New Testament text.~
