"Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye."
I don't think there is a lesson in the bible that more desperately needs to be taught among today's "Christians" than this one.
Herein, Jesus clearly instructed His followers (Christians) not to judge the actions of others. We must simply set an example that reflects a more perfect Christian light toward a lost world, yet today, everywhere you look there is some so called Christian group loudly condemning the actions of their neighbors while their own actions, in reality, are far more despicable before God than the actions of those they accuse.
In Romans 2:1, Paul reaffirms what Jesus said to those who condemn the actions of others; "Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things."
In Romans 2:2-3, Paul tells us who is to do the judging and what will happen to those who take it upon themselves to accuse others; "But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?"
Therefore, it behooves us to spend much more of our time cleaning up our own spiritual act while keeping ourselves out of the business of those around us.
We are to be gospel teachers, NOT gospel enforcers.~
