Lesson 1512

(Lesson 1512)(11-24-15) Matthew 6:22-24

"The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."

I overlooked this part of yesterday's lesson and I apologize for that. In this quote, Jesus said, in essence, that the image we project is what we truly are. If our eyes are set on evil then it is pursuant that we ourselves, will project that same evil. And, if our eyes are set only on good and desirable things, likewise, our image will project that goodness.

As Jesus said, we cannot serve to masters, we either see and do only good, through the righteousness imputed in us by Jesus Christ, or we are without the righteousness of Jesus Christ and therefore a servant evil and "mammon", Satan.

Therefore it behooves us to keep our heads up and our eyes on the glory of God through our Lord, Jesus Christ.~
