Lesson 1350

(Lesson 1350)(06-12-15) Philippians 2:14-18

"Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all. For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me."

Today's lesson should be especially taken to heart by every caring child of God alive today.

Herein, Paul warned the Philippians (and us) against "murmerings and disputings".Therefore, as representatives of the gospel of Jesus Christ, we should go about our daily lives without contempt for the actions of those around us no matter what they do. We should always remember that all things can be settled with the power of the Holy Spirit through fervent prayer, the condition and eternal fate of the lost is ultimately in God's hands and He will call to Christ those whom He will call. It is not our duty, nor are we scripturally allowed, to force the gospel on anyone. We are to preach it unceasingly to those who are willing to listen, but we are to leave those who are disinterested to their own fate without stirring up contentions among them.

In the latter part of today's quote, Paul demonstrated his gratitude for the children of God at Philippi and encouraged them to continue in their appointed work.~
