This lesson tells us that some of those present, mocked those who had heard and understood what was said, each in his own language, They were accused of being drunk. Peter stood and explained that in was not drunkeness that caused their confusion but rather the Spirit of Jesus Christ Himself returned, as was prophesied by Joel.
Peter told them how Jesus had promised to send His Spirit to comfort His disciples and through that Spirit they would have power over all the earth, even to the point of becoming the sons of God, John 12:1, "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: ", Romans 8:14, "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."

Peter also spoke of the day and conditions when Jesus returns to collect those of us whom havve accepted His grace, and believed His word.
The last portion of this lesson reassures us that those who call out to the Lord will be saved.~
