Lesson 2946

Lesson (2946)(01-23-20)3 Philippians 3:1-3
“Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe. Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision. For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.”

In today’s quote, Paul warned the Philippians to be on the lookout for the evil silver tongues of the Jews, “beware of dogs, beware of evil workers”. We know he was referring to the Jews because he went further to say the “we”, those whom have placed their faith in Jesus Christ, are now God’s chosen in that we “rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh”, (the restrictions of the law).
Those of us who teach the true doctrine of Jesus Christ today are no longer threatened by the Jews, as were the Christians of Paul’s day, but we, today, confront a continual barrage of heretical lies and distortions from all manner of slick tongued angels of Satan.
God has given us sufficient armory, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to stand against that barrage because we are blessed with the cloak of power and righteousness that has been imputed into us because of our faith in Christ Jesus.~
