Lesson 2824

(Lesson 2824)(09-17-19) Romans 8:24-25
“ For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.”

Today’s quote debunks the contention that a person must be, and remain, sin free in order to gain salvation.
The quote also clarifies the difference between salvation by faith and salvation by works (Assuming salvation by works is possible, which it IS NOT).
If a person sets about to work out, gain and maintain, his/her own salvation by “being good” or living without sin, that person’s faith is in him/herself, NOT in the blood of Jesus Christ. If a person has faith, not in him/herself, but rather in the soul saving blood of Jesus Christ, that one has imputed into him/her the total righteousness of Jesus Christ unto eternal salvation.~
