Lesson 2525

(Lesson 2525)(11-18-18) Luke 6:39-46
And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch? The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye. For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?”

This very important lesson applies equally today’s so-called Christians just as it did to the hypocrites of Jesus’ day.
It seems that most of those who profess belief in Jesus Christ spend more time criticizing their fellow man/woman than they do teaching the saving grace of God. Jesus said, “why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?” We should take that lesson to heart and adhere to it. It is ours, as followers of Christ, to, first attempt to teach the gospel to every soul who is willing to listen. Next, we are to obey the simple rules of Christianity; “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” (Matthew 22:37-39 in part.) We should leave those who reject the word of God to His divine judgment. We are neither authorized nor capable of judgment. “Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.” Romans 2:1)
The remainder of today’s quote relates, in essence, that only those who demand equity, constraint and compassion of themselves are fit to be looked upon as leaders. ~
