(Lesson 2862)(10-30-19) 1 Corinthians 6:9-11
“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”
In today’s quote, Paul distinguishes between those who have not accepted the saving grace of God and those who have been eternally saved by that amazing grace. Therein, Paul listed the sins of the lost and noted that the saved are were equally guilty of some of the same sins, that is, until that saved person was washed by the blood of Jesus Christ whereby their sins were “JUSTIFIED”. That means that the sins of the saved were not merely forgiven, but rather, those sins were approved in the sight of God. I thank God that I am, by faith, “washed”, “sanctified” and “justified in the name of the Lord Jesus.~
