“All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.”
There are many, today, who claim the mantle of Christianity yet contend that if a child of God commits a sin, her/she is again lost and therefore must be saved all over again. Nothing, in reality, could be further from the truth. As we see in today’s quote, Paul made it very clear that there is NO limitations on a child of God as to what he/she can or can’t do and still remain a child of God and heir to an eternal home in heaven; However, Paul also made it perfectly clear that we, the children of God are to do everything within our power to rise above sin. We are to control the actions of our bodies, being always aware that we are representatives of Jesus Christ in the flesh and are to conduct ourselves as such.

Lesson 2862
(Lesson 2862)(10-30-19) 1 Corinthians 6:9-11
“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”
In today’s quote, Paul distinguishes between those who have not accepted the saving grace of God and those who have been eternally saved by that amazing grace. Therein, Paul listed the sins of the lost and noted that the saved are were equally guilty of some of the same sins, that is, until that saved person was washed by the blood of Jesus Christ whereby their sins were “JUSTIFIED”. That means that the sins of the saved were not merely forgiven, but rather, those sins were approved in the sight of God. I thank God that I am, by faith, “washed”, “sanctified” and “justified in the name of the Lord Jesus.~

If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren? But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers. And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed, In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.”
In today’s quote, Paul relates that members of the church are not to “eat” with a someone who has been labeled a “fornicator”. He also applied the same rule to the “covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner”
It is my belief, that the term “fornicator”, as Paul applied it in today’s quote, describes one who has been found to be persuing heretical religious beliefs other than the strict gospel of Jesus Christ. I do not believe the term, as Paul applied it, only refers to those who have committed fornication according to the generally accepted sexual definition of the term. I came to that conclusion after finding that the same term is also applied by other biblical authors to describe those who adhere to heretical religions such as Catholicism, Mormonism, and many other distorted versions of Christianity.
I suggest that everyone read the seventeenth chapter of Revelation wherein John tells of the “great whore” and exposes the fate of those who fornicate with her. I am convinced that when John referenced the “great whore”, he was referencing the Roman Catholic Church. If you read that chapter, I believe you will understand why I believe as I do concerning Paul’s usage of the term “fornicator” in today’s quote.~

“Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God. And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another. For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it? Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you. For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men. We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised. Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace; And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day. I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you. For though ye have ten thousand instructers in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me. For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church. Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you. But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power. For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?”
In today’s lesson, Paul told the corinthians to regard no man of God above another, but rather, to give the glory to God always, as they all teach His divine word.
Paul also seemed to pass the responsibility for the continuance of evangelism from the apostles to the children of God within the church. He instructed that they were to accept Timothy as a true minister of the gospel of Christ and to take him into their fold.
In the last part of the quote, Paul reminded the Corinthians to cease from exalting one person over another within the church. ~

But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self. For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.”
In today’s lesson, Paul made it clear to the membership at Corinth that he didn’t really care what they thought of him so long as the recognized him as a fully dedicated messenger of Jesus Christ.~
I sincerely apologize for not having posted a lesson these last three days but I was out of state and unable to properly connect with the internet. I am deeply sorry and will try to do better.

If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.”
Today’s lesson tells us that if any believer preaches that which is not in accordance with God’s word, that person will be punished, yet his/her soul will remain saved.
I believe that the trial by fire will expose the evil works of all those who misled by false teaching.~

I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal? Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
Today’s lesson, in essence, that there are NO special people when it comes to the children of God. It says that if anyone uses the Spirit of God for any purpose other than to magnify and glorify God, that person’s efforts will fail in the end.
Sadly, there are literally hundreds, and maybe even thousands, of so-called Christian evangelists who, very obviously, preach a perverted version of the gospel, either out of ignorance or purely for their own gain. They will undoubtably drag countless numbers of people down with them. “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate and narrow is the way, which leadeth to life, and few there be that find it”. (Matthew 7:13-14)
In today’s quote, Paul assured us that those false teachers will recieve their just reward when they sit before the judgment.~

“ Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.”
Today’s lesson tells us how God keeps the spiritual knowledge of His saving grace from mankind because carnal minds can’t understand it. Therefore, in order to provide redemtion to a lost world, God sent His Son, Jesus, to be the spirituall translator and intercessor for those who would come to put their trust in Him and preach His divine gospel.
When a lost soul accepts the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and becomes a child of God, that soul inherits the “mind of Christ” whereby the “mystery” can be made clear.~

“And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”
In today’s quote, Paul relates that Jesus chose him to preach his word over all the highly educated and eloquent men of his day. Jesus chose Paul, and those like him, because they would make sure that, as Paul himself said, “your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”

“ For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.”
Today’s quote relates how God, by confusing the norms established by mortal men, chooses those who are to preach His word.
The quote confirms that God DOES NOT choose those who are educated by the accepted ways and standards set forth by mankind. But rather, according to Paul, He chooses those who are uneducated, “weak”, “base” and “dispised”. That includes those whom have, with the aid of the Holy Spirit, dug what they believe out of His divine word and have not been brainwashed by some heretical doctrine contrived by man to facilitate their own ease and comfort, or because of their egotistical and un-Christian disagreements with one another.
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people, that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light”. (1 Peter 2:9)~

(Lesson 2850)(10-15-19) 1 Corinthians 1:14-17
“ I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius; Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name. And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.”
Today’s quote contains another one of the most important lessons that is to be found in the New Testament. Therein Paul very clearly establishes that water baptism has nothing to do with the salvation of one’s eternal soul. I can say that because Paul said “I thank God that I baptized none of you”, and that, "God sent me NOT to baptize". If water baptism were meant to be a requisite step to salvation, Paul, a hand picked apostle of Jesus Chrsit, would have NEVER made those statements.
It behooves us to remember that Peter and several of the other apostles pressured and threatened Paul, insisting that he teach portions of the old Mosaic law, such as circumcision etc., as a part of the gospel of Christ. According to Maimonides (A highly recognized Jewish authority and Torah scholar from the 12th century AD), water immersion or “baptism”, was a part of that law. Thank God, Paul adamantly refused to give in to those distortions of what he knew to be the gospel.~

(Lesson 2849)(10-14-19) 1 Corinthians 1:12-13
“Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?”
In today’s lesson, Paul begins to point out and condemn the dissension that had arisen in the church at Corinth.
Judging by what he wrote in today’s quote, that dissension stemmed from a gross misunderstanding of the very essence of what it means to be a child of God, and therefore a member of His church.
In the last sentence of today’s quote, Paul identified the problem to be misplaced faith. Some had obviously believed in Apollos, some believed in Paul etc., and some had rightfully put their faith in Jesus Christ.
It is very important to note that when Paul pointed out their problem, it was that some had placed their faith in whomever had ritually “baptized” them AND NOT in Jesus Christ alone.
The Corinthians were guilty of the same mistaken contention that has befallen so many today whereas, in their minds, faith in the ritual of water baptism as a means to everlasting salvation, has replaced the blood of Jesus Christ. there is NO redemption except that which comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
In the next lessons, Paul will correct the error of the Corinthians by verifying that there is NO redemption except that which comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone..~

“Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother, Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Today’s quote is the beginning of a letter to the membership of the already established church in Corinth. It is very important to note, as we study what is written therein, that the letter is addressed to those who make up the church in Corinth. “Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil. And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. Timotheus my workfellow, and Lucius, and Jason, and Sosipater, my kinsmen, salute you. I Tertius, who wrote this epistle, salute you in the Lord. Gaius mine host, and of the whole church, saluteth you. Erastus the chamberlain of the city saluteth you, and Quartus a brother. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.”
In this lesson, Paul instructs His brethren in Rome to separate themselves from those among them who would be dissenters and trouble makers. He insisted that they adhere strictly to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
This is a very important lesson today because there are so many so-called Christian groups who contend that in order to attain God’s eternal grace, aside from faith in Jesus Christ, one must submit oneself to a series of rituals imagined by man. Paul very clearly said that we are to shun those who twist the very doctrine of Jesus Christ for their own gain.~

Likewise greet the church that is in their house. Salute my well-beloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ. Greet Mary, who bestowed much labour on us. Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellow-prisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me. Greet Amplias my beloved in the Lord. Salute Urbane, our helper in Christ, and Stachys my beloved. Salute Apelles approved in Christ. Salute them which are of Aristobulus' household. Salute Herodion my kinsman. “But now having no more place in these parts, and having a great desire these many years to come unto you; Whensoever I take my journey into Spain, I will come to you: for I trust to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, if first I be somewhat filled with your company. But now I go unto Jerusalem to minister unto the saints. For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem. It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things. When therefore I have performed this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will come by you into Spain. And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ. Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me; That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judaea; and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints; That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed.”
Today’s quote relates how Paul planned the journey that would eventually lead him to visit the church membership in Rome. He made a point of telling them that, on his way, he was delivering money, gifts from the Gentile churches, to the church in Jerusalem.~

And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another. Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God, That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost. I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God. Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.”

“ I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died. Let not then your good be evil spoken of: For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men. Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence. It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak. Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.”
In today’s quote, Paul uses a metaphor about the very restricted diet of the Jews to explain why we, the children of God, should not condemn our brothers and sisters in Christ because they might do things differently than we. An example, some believe that instrumental music is offensive to God and that it should not be played. Others believe, as I do, that it’s perfectly ok to have instrumental music as a part of a worship service. According to what Paul wrote herein, we are to accept whatever method of worship one chooses so long as that choice does NOT interfere with the basic faith of those who believe.
As Paul established in a prior lesson, to demand certain rituals or actions that require that a part of ones faith be placed in that ritual, such as water baptism etc, is a dissolution of God’s established means of spiritual rebirth.
To place a part of one’s faith in water baptism and another part in the blood of Christ, is like maintaining a golden calf and claiming that one is saved by the blood of Christ yet he/she must also worship the calf so the blood of Christ can do it’s job.
Those who put forth the claim that their faith remains in Jesus Christ alone, also, by reasonable assumption, claim that without the ritual of water baptism the blood of Christ is not sufficient for the remission of sins. That contention is more than wrong as Paul established in the final part of today’s quote when he said, “for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.”
Therefore, if one makes the ritual of water baptism requisite to spiritual rebirth and claims that that baptism is not a part of the faith required for that spiritual rebirth, requiring that the act of being baptized in water as a part of a spiritual rebirth becomes a stumbling block and is therefore a sin unto those who require it.~

(Lesson 2839)(10-04-19) Romans 14:12-13
“ So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.”
Today’s quote clearly establishes that there are to be NO “stumbling blocks”, additions with conditions, added to the doctrine of Jesus Christ so as to make salvation more difficult to attain than simply having a total reliance, through faith, on the sacrificed blood of Jesus to cleanse us from all sin.
The rituals of water baptism, communion, etc, are just such stumbling blocks. Placing those rituals between a lost soul and his/her eternal salvation requires that the faith of that lost soul be split between the virgin born life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ and those wrongfully required rituals.
The baptism that saves the souls of the lost is the metaphorical immersion of that lost soul into the perfectly sinless sacrificed body of our Lord Jesus Christ. John the baptist said, “I indeed baptize you with water unto (toward) repentence. But He that cometh after me, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire.” (Matthew 3:11) Being baptized with the Holy Ghost is to be immersed into, or overwhelmed by, the Spirit of Jesus Christ Himself. “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized (Immersed) into Christ have put on Christ.” (Galatians 3:26-27)~

“For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.”
In today’s quote, Paul established that every child of God will appear before the judgment seat of Christ to account for everything they’ve done here on earth, whether it be good or bad. That judgment will determine the status of the saints in heaven.

Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.”
This fourteenth chapter of Romans is a lesson unto itself; However, I have separated this part because it is an important lesson contained in the whole.
Therein, Paul made the very important resolution that as Christian people, we are to allow our brothers and sisters in Christ to pretty much worship as they please. That point is made clear in today’s quote.
The vast majority of today’s Christian denominations consider Sunday to be the day that has been divinely chosen as the correct day which one should set aside as a day of rest and a day of worship. As Paul makes clear in the quote, no one day is more holy than another. But rather, every day belongs to God and should be considered a day of worship. That same consideration is to be applied to all the differing ways Christians choose to worship.
In all, this lesson relates that we are to let everyone worship as they please, unless that worship requires submitting oneself to some ritual that is believed to be a required ‘step’ toward eternal salvation. An example of which is the ritual of water baptism. That ritual is regarded by the majority of so-called Christians, as a required step to gaining eternal salvation. As is clearly taught throughout the New Testament, eternal salvation comes ONLY through faith in the life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ. One CANNOT serve two masters, either one’s faith is in a water baptismal ritual or, that faith is in Christ Jesus.~

Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.”
