"Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets; Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you."
In today's lesson, Paul made it crystal clear that belief in Jesus Christ is the ONLY thing that is required, by God, for a lost soul to receive forgiveness of sins and to become an eternal child of God.
Paul, very clearly, said, "Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man (Jesus) is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And BY HIM ALL THAT BELIEVE ARE JUSTIFIED FROM ALL THINGS, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. Not only does belief in Jesus achieve forgiveness for sins, that belief JUSTIFIES all sin.
Almost all, so-called, Christian denominations contend that God requires perfection in one's every day life as well as some form of water baptism before that one can achieve everlasting life. As we can so plainly see in today's quote, nothing could be further from the truth. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thous SHALT be saved, and thy house.
"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." (Acts 16:31, in part)~
