Lesson 1875

(Lesson 1875)(12-10-16) John 14:12-15

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. If ye love me, keep my commandments."

Today's quote contains another one of the most important promises that are made in the bible.

Herein Jesus promised those of us who believe in Him that if we ask for anything in the name of Jesus Christ, we can have it all.

There are many Christian people today who fail in their efforts simply because they refuse to have absolute faith in the promises that Jesus gave us. If you are a child of God and in need anything, by all means, ask God for in the manner that Jesus instructed, and if it is within the will of God that you should have it, you will receive it.

I believe that absolute faith requires us to pray once for what we want then leave it to God. Constant prayer for the same thing demonstrates a lack of faith. If we do it right the first time, there is never a need to repeat a prayer. God never forgets so there's no need to remind Him again and again of our needs. "Whatsoever ye ask in my name, that I will do."~
