"And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us. And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us."
In today's quote, Jesus made a very important point that is greatly ignored among today's "Christians". "He that is not against us if for us".
Today, too many denominations who identify themselves as Christian, condemn and criticize others because of some slight difference in the way they interpret the least important aspects of the gospel. Instead of seeking common ground to forward the work of the church, they separate themselves.
Jesus made it very clear that we are to respect the efforts of others as they strive to spread the good news of God's saving grace. We are to love and respect them whether or not we agree on certain insignificant semantics, and so long as we do agree on the basic doctrine that declares our God as the Master of the universe and that salvation from the debt of sin is by grace through faith in the virgin born, life, death, resurrection and ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of our living God.~
