"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
Today's is a very short study but one of the most important lessons in the New Testament, so far as a child of God is concerned.
Just as Paul said in this verse, we are to continually study the word of God, forever purifying our knowledge of its content and intent.
There are many today, while claiming to be avid followers of Christ, truly have no clue as to what God's eternal plan for mankind is all about because they do not properly study the word of God.
The bible, in its entirety, beginning in the book of Genesis, lays out God's plan to redeem to the presence of God a fallen people. It, by recounting the history of the Jews and their complete failure of obedience to His law, demonstrates how mankind CANNOT redeem himself to that presence: It carefully forecasts the necessity and coming of Jesus Chris: It recounts His Life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension: It carefully explains how, through faith in His sin remitting sacrifice, mankind could once again, and finally, be redeemed to the presence of God for all of eternity.
Therefore, it behooves every one of us to study the bible daily in order to, 'show ourselves approved before God'. And then, once we have reached a certain level of understanding ourselves, we are to take it upon ourselves to teach others about the wonderful saving grace that is offered freely to all in God's Holy word and the divinely inspired gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.~
