Lesson 1331

(Lesson 1331)(05-24-15) Ephesians 2:8-10

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

God's plan for the eternal salvation of the human soul cannot be made plainer than it is in today's quote.

It behooves the sincere bible student to make note that there are NO requirements for attaining eternal salvation other than placing one's "FAITH" in the sacrifice God the Father provided by and through our Lord Jesus Christ. There are no hoops through which one must jump, there are no ancient physical rituals to perform, and there is no special, sin free, lifestyle by which the lost are to abide.

Verse nine clearly disavows human physical activity from having any part in the eternal salvation of the soul, saying of that salvation; "it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

Verse ten verifies that the righteousness required to reach the kingdom of God is "before ordained" or, "imputed" into those who have faith in Christ; "For we are his workmanship, CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS UNTO GOOD WORKS."

Upon a declaration of faith, the good works done by our Lord Jesus Christ are imputed into us as Paul so clearly emphasized; "But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, HIS FAITH IS COUNTED FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom GOD IMPUTETH RIGHTEOUSNESS WITHOUT WORKS, Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, AND WHOSE SINS ARE COVERED." (Romans 4:5-7)~
