Lesson 1323

(Lesson 1323)(05-16-15) Galatians 5:19-26

"Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another."

In todays quote Paul lists the fruits of those who live in the flesh as opposed to the fruits of those whose spirit is in Jesus Christ. This lesson coincides with what Jesus said in Matthew 7:19-21, "Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." The "will of my Father", is that every lost soul should be saved by the sin remitting sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

The spirit of those whom have placed their faith in Jesus Christ, are above the entrapments of sin while those who have not been redeemed by the Spirit of Jesus Christ crucified, continue to walk after the "flesh", or sin.~
