Lesson 3725

(Lesson 3725)(03-31-22) Romans 6:19-23

    “I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

    Today’s quote speaks clearly for itself. Thank God for the gift of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ our Lord! ~ 

Lesson 3724

 (Lesson 3724)(03-30-22) Romans 6:1-18

    “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.”

    In today’s quote, Paul explained how those of us who have had the righteousness of Jesus Christ imputed into us, through faith in Him, should stand clear of all sin. After having our sins buried with Jesus, we are to walk in “newness of life”. That means that, even though we are “justified” by the blood of Jesus before God, in whatever we do, we are to do all we can to avoid even the appearance of sin, for Jesus sake.~

Lesson 3723

 (Lesson 3723)(03-29-22) Romans 5:18-21

    “Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.”

    Today’s quote reiterates yesterday’s lesson and need no further commentary.~

Lesson 3722

 (Lesson 3722)(03-28-22) Romans 5:12-17

    “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)”

    Today’s quote tells us that the sin of one man (Adam), brought sin, and death, upon all of mankind, and likewise, through the sinlessness of one man, (Jesus) redemption from sin, and eternal salvation, was granted to all who believe in Him.~

Lesson 3721

 (Lesson 3721)(03-27-22) Romans 5:9-11

    “Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.”

     Today’s lesson reassures those of us who believe, that we are “justified” for the sins of the flesh by the blood of Jesus Christ. (1 John 3:9), “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God."~

Lesson 3720

 (Lesson 3720)(03-26-22) Romans 3:1-8

    “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

    To me, the most important word in today’s quote is the word “justified”. The quote assures those of us who believe in the life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ, that we are “justified” in the things that we do. Be they for the good of bad. 

    It is important to note also, that those of us who believe, because of the Holy Spirit that lives within us, make ever effort to obey the will of God in everything we do and to shun evil in all it’s forms. 

    There is, as I have said before, a great difference between the words forgiveness. To be forgiven is to let an offense slide, or be ignored in the final judgment. To be “justified”, is to not be charged with sin in the first place. A “justified” sin needs no forgiveness. 

    Thank God for both His forgiveness AND His justification for sins.~

Lesson 3719

 (Lesson 3719)(03-25-22) Romans 4:16-25

    “Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.”

    Today’s quote establishes the assurance that “justification” comes by faith alone. It is not something that can be earned by the law, nor is it something that was granted to the Jews alone.

    It should be noted that there is a great difference between forgiveness and “justification”. For sin to be justified is to be held blameless in spite of that sin.

    Those of us who have believed on our Lord Jesus Christ are “justified” for the sins of the flesh because the righteousness of Jesus Christ has been inputed into our etenral souls and sin can no longer be counted against us.~
