" I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!"
Today's quote speaks of the intense trials and testing that accompany true commitment, to God. In the second verse of today's quote, Jesus made reference to His, soon to come, "baptism". The usage of the word "baptism" in the quote, IS NOT a reference to water immersion, but rather, it is a reference to Jesus' immersion into His own physical death. The "baptism" Jesus referred to serves as the exact pattern for the spiritual death and burial we must undergo to attain eternal salvation. ~
