(Lesson 5112)(01-30-26) Matthew 10:8-10
“Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses, Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.”
In today’s quote, Jesus instructed his disciples to teach with the same radical generosity from which they had received the knowledge, freely healing and giving without seeking anything in return, while trusting God to provide for their basic need, rather than packing necessities for the journey. This lesson applies directly to those of us who believe in Jesus but also feel that we don’t have the means to spread God’s word as we know we should. As related in today’s lesson, we are empowered by the Holy Spirit to accomplish whatever we want, without fail, if we simply step out in faith. ~
