Lesson 4489

 (Lesson 4489)(05-18-24) John 4:39-42 

“And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did. So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days. And many more believed because of his own word; And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.” 

 

In today’s quote, many Samaritans from the town where Jesus met the woman at the well believed in Him because of the woman's testimony. She told the people how Jesus recounted her past, convincing her that He is the Christ. Because of that, the Samaritans invited Jesus to stay with them, and He did remain with them for two days. During His stay, many more believe in Him because of His own words and the things He did. The Samaritans acknowledge to the woman that while her testimony sparked their interest, it was then through their own interactions with Jesus that they have come to know that He truly is the Savior of the world. What a wonderful Savior we serve!~
