(Lesson 2019)(05-13-17) Romans 12:4-5

"For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another."

In today's quote, Paul made it vividly clear that those of us whom have been born again are ALL equal within the Church. This concept is again verified in Galatians 3:27-28, "For as many of you as have been baptized (Immersed) into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither MALE NOR FEMALE: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus."

This lesson should, once and for all, put away the notion that women are inferior to men within the church. However, there are positions in the church that can, by explicit order, only be occupied by men. Two examples are; " 1 Timothy 3:2, "A bishop then must be blameless, the HUSBAND OF ONE WIFE, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;". And 1 Timothy 3:12, "Let the deacons be the HUSBANDS OF ONE WIFE, ruling their children and their own houses well." A woman cannot be a husband.~
