Lesson 1336

(Lesson 1336)(05-28-15) Ephesians 4:1-6

"I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."

In today's lesson, Paul relates the standards by which each child of God is to conduct him/herself. All these listed characteristics fall under the guidance of the second "great" commandment wherein the children of God are to love their fellow human being as they love themselves and to treat all of them with the same caring with which they would treat their own.

In the last part of this lesson, Paul wrote that to us, the children of God, there is; "One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all." There is "one Lord", He is our savior, Jesus Christ. There is one faith, it is the faith that the children of God have placed in the sacrifice Jesus made for the remission of all sin. There is one baptism, that is the immersion of ones spiritual "inner man" into the sanctification of Jesus Christ through faith in Him. There is one God and Father of all, He is the omniscient Master of the universe, the beginning and end of all things.
There is no blessing like the feeling of eternal security that comes through faith in Christ Jesus. There is indeed, one Lord of all.~
